“I’m Al Qaeda” wins second place for Public Service in Online Journalism Green Eyeshade Award

I’m Al Qaeda,” Kristina Goetz’s project about the “self-described jihadist in prison for allegedly killing one soldier and injuring another at a military recruiting center in Little Rock” won a second place Green Eyeshade Award for Public Service in Online Journalism.

The project had an extensive online presence, including a DocumentCloud presentation of Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad’s letters to a judge and to the Commercial Appeal, which I helped put together.

Check out Kristina’s story and the project here. You can find all the 2010 Green Eyeshade Awards here.
